Before beginning any Laser Hair Removal treatment it is important to attend a FREE consultation.
This is a good time to meet your practitioner and ask any questions. You might also want to find out more about their experience. Laser hair removal is a medical procedure and it is vital to ensure your therapist is trained and reputable. Check for BABTAC and if in any doubt ask to see copies of qualifications at your consultation
It is also important to go along to a consultation. During this your laser hair removal therapist will explain to you how the procedure works and go over any concerns. They will also be able to advise you on expected results
At Laserpod we are happy to welcome new clients to a no obligation consultation. During this time it is really important to discuss any questions or concerns. It is also a time to make sure you feel relaxed and at ease with your therapist. Laser hair removal can feel quite intimate as certain areas require undressing so it is important to feel relaxed and comfortable during your treatment.
Trained aesthetic therapist Siobhan Hudson prides herself on her relaxing manner and caring approach to clients. She will check that you are happy at all stages of treatment and is more than happy to show her qualifications and testimonials.
During the consultation
During your FREE consultation your aesthetic therapist will explain how Laser Hair Removal works and the process of destroying the hair follicles.
You will also be told how you need to prepare to Laser hair removal – for example clients don’t always realise they will need to avoid the sun for a few weeks. We will also ask you to fill out a medical history form to ensure you are a suitable candidate for Laser Hair Removal. We will then do a patch test on you so you know how the laser feels. (most people find this very reassuring and are amazed how painless it is!) The Patch test will also tell us if you have any reactions that would mean you were unsuitable for treatment.
When preparing for Laser Hair Removal you need to avoid
- Tanning or sun exposure – you will also need to avoid the sun following treatments so no beach holidays the next week!
- Waxing, plucking and bleaching hairs for at least 2 weeks beforehand. We recommend that you shave a day or two before treatment
- Cosmetics and deodorant will need to be removed from the area we are treating
During your consultation we recommend asking
- What kind of laser are you using?
- What are your qualifications?
- How long will treatments take
This process is the time for you to alleviate any worries and make sure you are happy with your technician as you will need at least 6 treatments so it is essential to feel comfortable.
